ch ch ch changes

jennster says...
there are lots of changes going on in the ster/dot household. i recently got promoted at work and i've been so busy that i think that my head constantly spins on my shoulders. boyfriend and i are house hunting.. so are me and my husband. :) okay, we were house hunting. we've somewhat decided to put that plan on hold for the moment..... BUT, i feel good about it. not sure how he feels. to me, it seems like it's just better if we wait. there is no rush to buy a house right this very second- and i'd much rather wait for the right one to come along.

speaking of the right one, wanna know what pisses me off? when people (and by people i mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON) tells me that "your first home is never your dream house." okay, it may not be my dream house, but does that mean i have to settle for a house i can't stand?! i just hate people telling me what they think my house should be like. what if i do get close to my dream house my first time? why is this such a fucking impossibility? all it does is make me want to get an awesome house even more. you know what i mean?!?! i get it that the reality is that most people don't get perfect houses the first time they buy- but it still annoys me to no end to hear people remind me of that.... and even more, to hear people TELL ME that that is what WILL happen to us. how the hell do they know what will happen to us? just cause they bought a dump their first time around doesn't mean that's what we'll do. everyone can just shove their negative crap up right back up their ass where it belongs.

dot says:
i second what other people say and telling us what we should do or where we should do it. i personally could give 2 shits if its a dream house or not. i like fixing stuff and making it personal. i like the idea of having to do a bunch of home customizations.

I understand why we are on hold for house hunting. even though i would move tomorrow just for the reason of telling our landlord to kiss my ass. if the right house at the right price comes up then i want to go for it but going to that town every weekend is annoying and i am glad we are putting that off for a while.

But most importantly im trying to buy a 5.0 mustang. and every one i have gone to see off craigslist has been a total POS. i mean missing door locks.....as in a hole in the door where you put your keys. i wish someone would just put what it was instead of trying to get someone to see it but lying to them to get there.

jennster says:
please don't get me started on this car you suddenly MUST HAVE and no other car in the world will do. thanks.

so.. we're like.. getting married and stuff

ster:
our wedding is in 2 days. TWO DAYS! and here we are.. blogging. HA! it's weird. i was completely freaking out on monday, but i've come to realize that i was just pms'ing. seriously. cause i've been completely fine ever since. the weirder part is.... i've already seen family and friends who live across the country and it's like my brain hasn't processed just exactly what the hell they're doing here. i know it sounds crazy, but i'm wondering if i don't really realize that they are here for US. i mean, i'm getting married. but part of me is clueless. like i haven't put it all together. maybe it's because i still have gift bags to make? and maybe it's because i'm at my mom's house, instead of at our hotel room where the ceremony and reception will take place.. or maybe it's because I AM A TOTAL AND COMPLETE FREAK?!?!?!!

point:
well you are a total and complete freak. thats already a given. but ive been alittle wierd myself. i dont fully realize that its coming, that this thing i started over 2 years ago is going to pass. like i dont even know its here. that my wedding is in 2 days. but at the say time when i remind myself that we are getting married in to days i get giddy. like stupid little boy giddy. if only you didnt have to bring down all my happiness this past week when i would do my morning countdown. "honey....5 more days...." before i would see this cute smile and now.......i get a shutup.....

note to self: dont show anymore emotion.

the glorious feeling known as...........

point says:
The naked poo. now, now, dont cringe.....close your jaw and stop thinking WTF. Bear with me and soon you will see and agree that there is nothing more liberating and fabulous than.............the naked poo.

Im a welder. i spend most of my day sweating and working in dirt and grim. i also am not the type of person that looks forward to pooing at work....if its the second half of the day i would rather go home for the .......................... naked poo.

there are 3 requirments in the naked poo. two are very obvious.....

1. naked
2. poo
3.........door open.

there is no point in half-assing the liberation of the naked poo by keeping the door shut.

after the naked poo...........straight into the shower....get all clean and fresh and finish the day like a brand new man...............errrrr woman.

ster says:
1. i cannot believe i'm marrying you.
2. you are disgusting.
3. i cannot believe you just brought people into our BATHROOM.
4. you are freaking rank.
5. have i mentioned how unbelievably gross you are?
6. did you just call yourself a woman?
and 7.. i can't even respond to this because girls.don't.poo. naked or otherwise.

point says:
i said err woman incase a woman wants to or does the naked poo.....yea yea i know girls dont poo. the bathroom is a perfectly natural function....i dont understand why its so taboo.....

after all, it's rated PG

Point says:
Men- how old were you when you were allowed to watch one of the greatest movies of all time? The 1976 Academy Awards Best Picture.... Of course im talking about "Patton." I dont remember how old i was when i saw it, but i know i was younger than blake. Hell, i saw the "good the bad and the ugly" by his age. I think it's totally appropriate for young boys to see the classic and epic war movies to give them a good perspective of good and evil. To nurture every young boys drive and desire to watch and learn our countries wonderful history and understand that hardships that our fathers and grandfathers went through and the sacrifices they made.

jennster cries:
good.freaking.god. not.this.topic. fine. FINE!!!! i don't think that blake has any need to see certain movies at his age. which is why i don't let him watch anything PG-13 (i had to watch the harry potter rated pg-13 before i would let him see it). i just think that before we know it, he'll be watching so much crap that i don't think there is any reason to subject him to it now. he's 8 freaking years old. times have changed. kids bring guns to school now and shoot the people they go to school with. i would have to watch patton before i would ever let blake see it and then make the decision on whether it is something that is appropriate or not. blake has the want to see certain movies, but it's my job as his mom to decide if it's right or not. the other thing about these old war movies, is that they are totally over blake's head. he does not understand the story, the history, or anything they talk about. all he freaking processes is the war scenes, the guns, and the crap like that. stuff that i don't really feel like fueling in him... i don't want him to be obsessed with war and shooting and i don't want him to think guns are "cool." because they aren't. and i know that boyfriend is going to say that these movies are all PG, but that's because it was before PG-13 even existed, so that "excuse" doesn't work with me.

Point says:
Its your job to protect him and be sensitive but its "our job" to make him well rounded and balanced. Im not saying that he picks up on everything in the movies but its a starting point and eventually you get the things that go along with it. Its an important part of building a foundation of respect and honor for our nations military and country. I think its better to watch them supervised with someone that understands and will help explain the gravity of the situations in the movies.

btw: guns are cool.

jennster:
all i want is for there to be balance and reason. i'm not opposed to him watching them EVER, i just don't think he should be watching certain things right this very moment! why does he "need" it? what does it offer him positively right now that he is actually understanding and comprehending??? nothing. those movies are so far above his head and you know it. you just don't want to admit it because you want to watch them with him. which is fine, but why does it have to be NOW????

to watch together.. or not

ster:
it seems as though there is no problem whatsoever, as long as we're watching whatever boyfriend wants to watch on tv. the moment he comes upstairs, he completely takes over the remote (code for I AM MAN, I CONTROL BIG SCARY TV!! RAHR!!) and flips. he flips the damn clicker so fast i feel like my eyes are going to explode from channel changing. then he stops on 1 of about 5 shows he wants to watch. i tolerate them, but wouldn't watch them if he wasn't forcing me too. bottom line- we can NEVER watch what i want to watch together.

tonight i was watching grey's anatomy. now this is a show that boyfriend would rather gouge his eyes out, then watch. but for some reason this evening, he was downstairs with me while it was on. imagine my surprise when he sat down on the couch to actually watch it with me. but then i hear him snicker.... AT A GOOD PART. he's over there laughing because he's not emotionally invested in the show like i am so he doesn't care! ARGH! that's when i have to look at him and say things like, "don't laugh! don't make fun! don't say anything.. if you're going to watch it with me, you have to just be quiet!!"

it shouldn't be this difficult. he's just a good tv show hater. and a selfish channel flipper. hmph

point:

Did anyone see that show???? What the fuck is that crap........the dumb biatch was a drowned popsicle for crying out loud. now im not saying that its not medically possible to save someone that drown in cold water....and if i rember correctly it might even be easier.....but nevermind that.....then there is the afterlife shit that was just sooooooo blah. what, there budget so fucking tight that they couldnt make a cloudly background...her afterlife what in a hospital. i mean come on!!! and like they are going to kill off the narrator...

i have given that show 3 or maybe 4 chances and i never fails.....crap, that dipship Mcdreamy is still that nerd in "cant buy me love" and that pizza movie with the "extra anchovies."

now to the shows i watch at night.....yes i am a flicker.....and i know what channels to jump to. you start at to and 3,4,5,7...then you jump to 12,13 (since niether of us know Korean.) then.....14-28 is spanish Cspan and public programming....33, 35-40 (food, fx and sports) normally we stop at food to look at cake making. long story short of the 81 channel i know of the 15 that might have something....i dont know what her problem is.

who doesnt like family guy?

the wedding of the year!!!!

ster:
some of you might not know that boyfriend and i aren't married yet! but it's coming soon, so our house is all about the wedding!! invitations on the floor. stickers with our monograms printed and strewn around the house. silly shaped scissors for my many diy (do it yourself) projects. cd cases in boxes. blank cd's at both computers. disposable cameras. boxes of vases. boxes of candle holders. boxes of EVERYTHING! wedding.madess.

but in all honesty, i love it! i truly do. i think it's all so much fun and i'm having a blast planning every single detail. the way i look at it is that i don't get a do-over on this day. so all the little things i think about adding in- make me excited!

boyfriend actually tried to get me to "promise" that i wouldn't think of any more crafty ideas to implement and do for this day. i tried to promise, i really did... but i mean, who knows what i'll think of next?!?! at least i'm not having these ideas and then bitching about them, right? i mean, as long as i am having fun doing all the crafty things, what is the problem??

i'm only having one wedding. and i'm going to make it as personal, fun, crafty and silly as i want it to be. dammit. do you wish you'd done anything differently for your wedding? did you do a lot of stuff for it, or am i the only insane one?

point:
not bitching....please dont believe that shit. She may not be bitching about the wedding stuff but on our weekend and i ask for like 5 minutes of attention all i get is a load of shit because she's concentrating...........It is very damaging to the relationship. most women would be pleased that their man would want to give them some attention to try to spend time with them........

and dont think i bought that PATHETIC attempt at a promise....your thinking of shit to ADD to our already pre-existing right now......and probably all day long for that matter.....

i swear we are going to end up paying people to come to the wedding when you add up all the time and materials that are going into favors and trinkits.

im thinking of getting my groomsmen bottles of booze as our gifts....how toughtful is that!

oh, the holiday's

jennster:
holiday's. christmas, thanksgiving, easter, and whatever the hell else "holiday" you're required to do familial things for. when boyfriend and i were dating i remember him telling me that we would NEVER switch off families during the holidays (you know, like my family one year, his the next). he gave me some bullshit line about how he had to be with his family every single thanksgiving and christmas. and no matter how many times i pleaded with him, trying to explain that that wasn't fair at all, he wasn't budging. i remember sluffing it off and thinking "we'll deal with this later.." it's funny because when i bring that up now, he claims not to remember ever saying that. how convenient.

well it's come down to the real deal and we ARE switching off. his family last year at xmas, and mine this year. i truly think that's only fair. even if my mom does get the raw end of the deal because we only seem to negotiate christmas, and nothing else. when you think about it, my mom should have christmas every year since boyfriend's family has us every thanksgiving, easter and every other holiday. but we switch. we trade off. that's how it should be right? i mean, isn't that what normal people do? (not implying that we're normal or anything)

point:
your fucking high if you think that your mom should get christmas every year....you never even did anything for t_day before me. Your just lucky that i have decided to give you a gift and allow us to go to your mothers......after all its tradition that the woman leaves her family to join the mans. i think your blessed to have such a wonderful man that he decide to change the way it was supposed to be to make you happy.

if only you were so understanding.

jennster:
good god, i can't let this crap go. IT IS NOT TRADITION THAT THE WOMAN LEAVES THE MANS FAMILY! he leaves. dammit.
and before your ass, i freaking volunteered during thanksgiving! so hmph!
ps- i hate you.

the snooze button

jennster says:

or the thing that i am going to break off of boyfriend's alarm clock and use as my weapon to kill him with!

how annoying is this- boyfriend sets his freaking alarm for about an hour before he has to get out of bed. AN HOUR! and he snoozes the entire time. DO YOU THINK I WANT TO WAKE UP EVERY 10 MINUTES FOR A FUCKING HOUR? no, i don't.

he won't be reasonable either. i beg and plead with him to set the alarm for about 20 minutes before he wants to wake up. i can tolerate that. but this hour crap has got to stop. i want to sleep. i need my sleep. and i don't understand why he tortures me with this?!?! maybe he thinks it's funny? maybe he likes to snooze for 29348920353 minutes before he wakes up. but maybe he should start thinking that it affects my sleeping! and i'm the one who has to get up with blake at night when/if he wakes up. lord knows that boyfriend is just snoring right through any of that nonsense. so when it comes to morning- give me peace. give me sleep. i just don't understand this freaking snooze button phenomenon. who the hell invented this anyway? i'll kill them next.

point says:

For my entire life i have woken up with a snooze period. its like a gentle reminder that i need to start getting up. I set it for about 5:20 and i get out of bed at about 6. But there are more reasons.

1. I HATE setting my alarm clock. i have the alarm clock curse.....i'm the guy that shows up to work 20 minutes late and says "my alarm didnt go off. i set it. i double checked it....and it didn't go off." It didn't go off this morning as a matter of fact. i have alarm clock paranoia.

2. I have a job that i have to be there BY 7 am. I could get there at 2am if i wanted to. But sometimes i need to be in there at 6. so this way if i know i have to be in by six i just dont snooze. granted that's not that often.....even though now i think im gonna start going in at 6 more.

3. My Alarm is set to talk radio (right wing hate radio for those that dont know me) so its not like metallica starts up ride the lightning every morning. its people talking and i keep it low and quiet........

4. I will give jenn that she tends to blake in the middle of the night (as she should....that being women's work and all) but i also feel, like i get the shit end of the stick in the sleep total at the end of the week. every night at about 10 im ready to be asleep......but she gets home later than me so it's too early. so i stay up till around 11:00 or 11:30.....then i wake up by 6:20 and she gets to sleep another hour. so at the end of the week im shithoused on sleep. so the way i see it since i dont get 5 extra hours of sleep a week i should be able to SNOOZE

jennster says:

why are you going to start going in at 6???? and i hate right wing talk radio.. i do not want to hear their bullshit ringing in my ear every morning. or ever. double ugh.

ps - we RARELY go to bed after 11. our sleep and work times are a whole other discussion. good gravy.

point says:

because dumbshit got fired and it would be opportunistic for me to put in some extra effort right now and christmas and all that is around the corner and i could use the overtime. right wing radio is the best. WE ALWAYS go to bed after 11. are you fucking high? oh wait, i forgot your hammered right now.......

i have to live with this..........

jennster says:

he is totally lying. well not about the me hammered part because 1 glass of wine puts me over the edge these days. and 2 glasses has me floating in the wind. floating in the wind? that's not even a saying. i'm so lame when i'm drunk. my point is that we do NOT go to bed after 11 often. but like i said before- that is a conversation for another time! as in, NOT NOW.

pss- i am all for the snooze button. i fully support it. but in moderation. snooze button abuse should be grounds for some kind of beating. the end.

solo vacations?

jennster says:
boyfriend is packing right now as i type this for a hunting weekend. a weekend with his buddies. he does this a few times a year. and i'm all for it. i think it's great that he has something he does without me. and i enjoy my alone time. when boyfriend is on vacation, i feel like i get a little vacation too. does that sound bad? i love and adore him. but i also love and adore me. i LOVE my alone time. my alone with myself time. my alone with blakey face time. all of it. i enjoy being in my own company and i rarely get tired of myself. i've never understood the people who simply couldn't be alone. i can stay up late at night and watch whatever i want without boyfriend having to go to bed early, or whining about how badly grey's anatomy sucks. i can rent movies that i know will be bad, but watch them anyway. i can hog up the whole entire bed (even his pillow). i can eat what i want because i'm such a bad cook. i can journal and write. i can play with you guys all night if i want too! party!

before boyfriend left however, he was saying how he felt kind of bad that i don't get to take vacations. hmmm. i'd never even thought about it before, but it is kind of true. he gets to go on his little hunting trips and i don't really go anywhere. i wonder what i can start doing yearly so that i have a getaway that's just girls? i used to go to new york to see my east coast girls, but that has kind of changed the past couple of years. i sure could use the time away with friends. and i'm sure he could use it too. right babe? am i the only one who sees the positive in getaways with your friends?

point says:
Thank god it's finally here and i can get away from that psycho..........

i think solo vactions are extremely healthy i think i even need more of them..............

but in all seriousness i do think they help alot, ease tensions between us.....normally i end up realizing (why the fuck did i say normally, ok pretty much always) how much i miss her and blakey and how lucky i am.

Now im not saying that times are tense, but it's nice to have a reminder of why you want that sprawling freak next to you, taking up all the bed.

OH, and thank god she gets those AWFUL movies out of the way when im gone too....(i'm a bastard, a self admitted bastard, when it comes to movies, music and shows.......i would hate to live with me for soley that reason.....that being said i don't think i'll ever change.) I just want to ram ice picks in my ears and eyes.

Now i wonder if my little vacation does the same for her (staying home) as it would if she went somewhere?? i dunno, prolly not, because when she goes somewhere she gets out of the house and stops with her O.C. cleaning habits..............and enjoys herself. and vise versa. i get to be a filthy pig again and walk around in my tighty whiteys, drink beer at 10am and watch war movies and nascar......

i hope to hell she leaves to go somewhere soon.
